Separation to community board and center board

So checking a forum daily just to find out that there is nothing new is
a waste of time and would keep me away from this forum.

Usenet for me is something strange from the past, like console interface for Doug
But if others also think that it can helps, I will learn this technology.

I don't think so. I was responding to Doug's comment saying he preferred to be emailed directly with the latest comments. I don't think he was talking about UseNet.

You are not interrupted in any way by using a usenent news reader.

I am very familiar with the capabilities of UseNet as I used it regularly from the early 1990's until a few years ago. Unfortunately my ISP stopped supporting the feeds and I can only access it now via Google Groups which is not nearly as useful as using dedicated newsreader software. (No - I have no intention of changing my ISP).

*) We should separate the center member boards from the other non-center boards, with the center boards administered by OberonCore
*) We should put all discussions on the non-center boards to a halt until the center is established
*) We should move the non-center boards to Usenet or Google Groups

*) I'm fine with all options mentioned

I would replace boards by forums as we have only one board but multiple forums.

The set of choices is not complete because there are multiple independent issues and not all combinations are covered.
1. if there is a split, transfer center forums to oberoncore, to usenet, leave them
2. if there is a split, transfer community forums to usenet
3. suspend all community forums until center is established
These issues are independent, so may be the vote should be split.

Add an explanation what a particular choice would mean and which problem it solves.
What is the advantage of center management by oberoncore, for example?
I don't want to express any preference here but I want to understand the reasons and implications.

I thought that the discussion of what each choice means is what this thread here is all about. I assumed that everybody who either paricipated in the discussion or told us that there is enough discussion and we should now vote, basically had read the thread and therefore is informed about what each proposal means.

I think that OberonCore started this discussion with a problem they think needs solving.
Everyone who proposed an option, also wrote what he thinks the advantages are.
To some of those proposals, others answered what they think the disadvantages are.

Do you mean that the vote should include a synopsis of the discussion? I wouldn't like that as I fear that if I write the synopsis, it would probably not be impartial, and thus I would influence the votes. And I think it is unnecessary, because everyone voting should just read the thread.

Certainly the "center" needs to be able to vote, if that means staying on this forum, so be it, although it would be nice to get a consolidated email with the discussions rather than having to sign on and find out what's going on.

If so, those who want a digest and/or eMail of all new posts, get that by choosing one of the following options

These issues are independent, so may be the vote should be split.

How would you split? How would you formulate the votes? Also please keep in mind that there are options which are currently not "available" since there is no one who volunteered to do the work (eg. the option "Rene administrates the center board on a machine different from Oberore's and Ivan's" is not covered, because I do not volunteer for that.)

I have no experience with that feature. If "center" will vote I will install it. I do not want to make demo for this feature.

Ivan, I do not break my own rules. I do not ask for doing things without vote. I just wanted to know if it is possible to be done or not.
