Repository voting falstart

Post by ReneK »

Separated from http://forum.blackboxframework.org/view ... ?f=33&t=43 The reason, topic moved for discussion and this messages become off topic.

Again, the discussion is far from being at its conclusion, please stop bothering the group with votes without discussion.

Thanks

Right. But the other one is not for "center" members. Whatever Ivan thinks he is doing with such an action....

Ivan, please, note that "center" members ask you to not start votes without discussion. Do you hear them? Or may be you hear your wishes in the people sayings? Is it possible to someone to hear others when he willing to hear himself?

OberonCore and Rene ask me do not start polls before discussion. This is not such a case. There was the discussion in few places including mail list. All members have read mail list discussion and have ability to participate? Before WORKING chairmen will not be chosen with such a role and duty the poll can be started by any member including you and me.

You were not waiting any results and have published BB1.6 in Bitbucket. Peter already ready to make pull-requests there. Do this somehow connected with "center" or it is only OberonCore activity?

It's only OberonCore activity and it's not connected with "center" (as it already answered to Doug Danforth in mail list). You, Ivan, can do the same.

OberonCore, Rene and Chris (it was he who brought up this topic!) asked you not to start polls before discussion. Josef seems to agree, though this is just infered from his participation in the "Chairman" discussion, not something he expressis verbis said.

So, 30-40% of the center members voiced their opinion against polls without sufficient[/] discussion. The rest so far has stayed silent. Neither camp can claim their votes.

Yes, there has been some discussion on the OMI-BB-list, and non-center members have discussed it, too.

You and I have already agreed that the Versioning tool is irrelevant for non-center-members. The necessity of a versioning tool for center members only has not been discussed suffienctly as of yet.

Your poll is premature, because:

  • It does not reflect the discussion on the OMI-BB-list.

The discussion on the OMI-BB-list was not sufficient.

Discussion of non-center-members is not relevant for the question.

We do not know what our needs for such a tool are.

Therefor, we do not believe that sufficient discussion was made about this question.

I understand. It's easy to lose track when there are multiple media and multiple threads involved. Thank you for cleaning up.
