Tribiq → Zenario

Post by DGDanforth »

Folks,
I jut spent two days wrestling with the Tribiq Content Manager System that is used to create the Center's front page.
What a mess! The definitely do not follow the simple as possible credo. Even after getting nice feedback
from Tony at Tribiq (see below) it still took me many hours of wandering around with their tools before I was
able to add two hot links to our front page.

I think we can do better. I have some ideas but will wait until I experiment a bit.
Here is the Tribiq documentation

Dear Douglas,

Thanks very much for your email, I appreciate your feedback and comments.

Tribiq CMS has been undergoing a considerable upgrade over the past two years, we have not published updates or much support material during that time to the community. However we are approaching launch time for our new product, Zenario, which is effectively version 7 of Tribiq CMS.

There is some documentation online:

- http://tribiq.org/tribiq-6-documentation has Tribiq CMS version 6 user manuals, I think they are quite detailed

- http://zenar.io/ is the site that will replace tribiq.org, there is a glossary there, some documentation, much more coming soon

- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUzvGrJ ... e=youtu.be is a new video of Zenario (not publicly listed yet)

- https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=tribiq+cms will find you some older Tribiq CMS videos.

- http://tribalsystems.uk/blog/ has some news about our company generally, including a latest post about the new CMS.

I appreciate the info is a bit dispersed at the moment, however in the next few weeks you should see it coming together and being a lot more helpful, with a download of the Zenario Community product and a lot of info behind it. First there will be a Community beta, and then Pro will be available after we're out of beta.

I think you will find Zenario is much more friendly product. We're still not trying to be an "instant website" platform, but really a scalable platform which web designers and developers can use to freely create designs and implement database-heavy sites and portals.

Does that help at all? Please let us know if you have any further questions.

With best regards,

Tony

Doug, thank you for this information. That explains why there is no updates for Tribiq. I think, that we should switch to Zenario. Do you think, that we should make some voting? Or we can simply switch to Zenario?

I don't think we need a vote. Just upgrade to Zenario.

We have moved our front page web-site to Zenario CMS. Old web-site is archived without access from the Internet.
