The latest CPC edition of BlackBox maintained by Helmut Zinn has already contained this fix
as a result of issue B1.

You are suggesting to go from Zinn version, I am not sure that all members share this idea. We need to vote for choosing a start point. When Rene will have a time, let him make some vote like:

The start point for Center development:
- 1.6 Final
- 1.7 Zinn
- 1.6 OberonCore

I strongly suggest that the first step is simply to put 1.6 Final onto our web site.

Then we can vote on whether 1.7 CPC or 1.6 OberonCore is the next release.

I think we are not in accord, historically.
Up to now, Oberon Microsystems has been the host for all BlackBox releases.
They have given up that role.
We need to take up that role.
We need continuity in the releases.
There should NOT be a jump to a new release.
The first release from the 'Center' should be the last release from Oberon Microsystems.
That provides the continuity so that IF all code at Oberon Microsystems disappears THEN
there is a solid base from which future releases spring.

Yes, I agree there definitely should be a vote for what should come AFTER the placement of
BB1.6 on the Centers' server.

No. This is a misunderstanding.
The starting point is of course 1.6 final from ominc.
But from there on, the question is how to proceed
and how to reduce the backlog of resolved issues.

I was not aware of the fact that there exists a 1.6 OberonCore version.
How does it relate to 1.6 final by ominc?
How does it relate to 1.7 CPC?
Can someone please tell us more about that?

I think it would be useful for all of use (gulp) to learn how to compare different code releases. Ivan did present a comparison of one release to another but I do not know how to access the tools necessary in doing that.

Perhaps a tutorial discussion on 'Development Tools' should be set up and Ivan (and whom ever else feels competent) can add to it

I agree that we should have Ominc 1.6 as the starting point and then decide point by point if we integrate fixes and/or new developments from other editions.

Yes, we need comparison, yes, we need a bug list and different proposals for fixes, where there are differences.

I have slowly started to be organized.
In FireFox I have created a bookmarks folder called BlackBox in which I have the two pulldowns:
Community - which accesses forum.blackboxframework.org
Revisions - which accesses your redmine page

Now it should be easy to keep track of what is going on.
