Setting up the new server & maintaining it

Ivan D. proposed to set up the new server with EDIS, if the center members want this.

This of course means a new vote is necessary. So let's discuss our options.

Of course there is Ivan.

OberonCore told us some time ago that they would be willing to manage the server and boards, but I'm not sure if they are willing to do that on the EDIS server, or only on their own infrastructure.

Anyone else willing and able?

Go with the flow. Let Ivan do this.
(Now that you are chair I suggest you simply take action without votes. If we complain about the action then
you can backtrack. Otherwise things will happen much too slowly).

I like Doug suggestion, however my fast actions sometimes can make people nervous, so I will abstain from the hyperactivity to prevent Center destruction.

Let's wait for OberonCore reply for making the decision about the poll list and then vote.

Yes, Rene, you are right. OberonCore would like to manage boards on OberonCore's server platform due to convenience.

And OberonCore support Doug's opinion that Ivan can manage server and boards on EDIS server.

There are no suitable VPS in EDIS already, sorry BUT we are to slow.

I want to by VPS here:
http://www.sshvm.com/

What do you think?

5$ plan seems OK.

Do I read this correctly: we have to repeat the voting process for the hoster.

If so: I think we should ask the hoster for an offer/comitment, binding for the next 3 weeks, so that if we revote the offer is still valid and the VPS available.

As we are now back on square one, I would then make a vote with roughly the following options

a) hoster sshvm, adminstrator Ivan, usage of funds (5 EUR)
b) hoster OberonCore (respectively the hoster OberonCore uses, details please), administrator OberonCore, usage of funds (if any).
c) more discussion/none of the above
d) abstain

I know this would mix different topics, but since OberonCore is only willing to host on their own machine (which I understand) and the discussed consent would be to ask Ivan do the administration on sshvm, it is best to combine this, IMHO, cause this is taking a ridiculous amount of time now.

I agree, that we can combine like this. There are no need for binding if it is 3 weeks, not a 3 months. Also you can add option:
f) Leave forum as it is (located in Moscow Clodo.ru VPS, administrator Ivan, no usage of funds)

OberonCore believes that it is necessary to proceed from the particular task. It's solution is delegated to a concrete person. Minor details of the solution nobody should worry until this person provides a solution.

Now the task is to deploy and manage the center boards. A web hosting company, it's location, it's datacenter location, the type of the server, etc. are in this case the minor details. From the discussion of which OberonCore abstained.

Previously we have proposal of OberonCore:
1) The proposal of OberonCore to deploy and manage center boards free of charge.

Now we have proposals of OberonCore & Ivan Denisov:
1) The proposal of OberonCore to deploy and manage center boards free of charge.
2) The proposal of Ivan Denisov to make the temporary boards which are in use as main for the center. And to continue it's support free of charge.
----
When the other tasks appears, then we will need to discuss who wants to solve and what is necessary for this.
