My first computer course was in Algol-60 at Stanford where Niklaus Wirth gave several guest
lectures. We used a Burroughs 5500 mainframe machine with punched cards. Next came SAIL
(Stanford AI language), MAINSAIL (Machine Independent SAIL), and various other languages,
e.g. C/C++, Pascal, Aid, Lisp, ..., Oberon V4, System 3, and then BlackBox/Component Pascal.
I am retired and doing research on the foundations of quantum physics and machine learning.
