That assumes /USE for the directories.
I don't quite remember how I got the first equation into a .odc file but once that is done
then one can simply copy any equation to any document and then modify the equation
by double clicking on it. That brings up a display of tools for entering different symbols.
I can encode and send you a sample file, if you wish.

Reboot your machine and test with a clean copy of BB 1.7.
I have no other ideas.
