This voting is for merging the changes of topic branch issue-#37
(fixing traps with long search patterns in DevSearch) into master.

For the user there is no change except
- there are no TRAPs any more when a search pattern longer than some maximum is used.
- the maximum possible search pattern is much larger now than before
- the window title shows readable text in case of tabs or new lines within the search pattern

The additional change by Helmut, viz. the inclusion of the search
string in the output window, is not included in this topic
because it is a feature, not a bug. It needs to be discussed separately.
