Framework Mailing List

Post by Zinn »

I observe about the mailing list the following behavior:

If I press answer in a received mail from the list, I do not answer to the mailing list, I answer to the sender only.

If I send a mail to the list I do not receive my email via the list.

Helmut

I agree.

Maybe your comments would be better on the Community Forum where there is already a mailing list topic?

It includes the vital information:
To subscribe, please, use web-interface here:
http://mj2.blackboxframework.org/mj_www ... extra=main
Could a link to this address be put in an easier to find / remember place?

Cheers

I added the link to this subscription page to the "Useful links" section to the both forums.

About reply address, Helmut, I think you can try configure your settings here:
http://mj2.blackboxframework.org/mj_www ... &func=show
You can try to activate "replyto" option.

I can't log me in there. I have a user name which is not an E-Mail address. Must I registrated with my E-Mail address again? Is that the fifth registatration? (Center, Community, Redmine, Git, Subscription) That is called single sign Login.

Where can I read the mails from the mailing list? I thought I can read it in my mailing client program and not on a website. How many mails did I miss?

Further I don't understand why there are two Community Center Forums? What is the difference between Center Forum & Community Forum? Why I should do everything twice and look at two places? Do I post to the wrong Center?
Would it be not easier to have both inside one place together?

Sorry I'm confused.

Ivan,
I agree with Helmut about having two PHP Bulletin boards is confusing.
I know you have put a lot of work into the Community forum but I think it
would be better to merge the two forums.

Some other mechanism would then be necessary to restrict who can vote.

(now back to the Mailing List issue)

There was the decision to split forums. It is not easy now to unite them back. They were split, because we have separate Center organisation and in this forum we are working on issues and discussing here only things about the Center.

So, yes, you should post such general discussions in Community board, where any can reply and discuss mailing lists issue.

Please, put you email here (no user name is needed): http://mj2.blackboxframework.org/mj_www ... &func=show
Then press "Choose address", then put your password an it should show the settings.

Helmut, there is one forum for the center and one for the public community.
In the center forum only center members can post.
In the public forum, everybody can post.
In addition, everybody can read the center forum.

The redundancy comes mainly from the mailing list
which is open to the public very much like the public forum.
I was always pointing out this redundancy as confusing but
I could not convince people to us only one public channel.
