Digital signing of Center BlackBox
If we want people trust our work we can buy certificate to sign BlackBox Setup file.
Now the alert looks like this: With proper digital signature it will be: It is not cheap (~ $200/year), now we have no such money. But it can be done in future.

$20*11 = $220
So a fee of $20/year on the members of the center would cover that cost.
We can also attempt to raise funds via 'Donate' or by any of us contributing
a fraction of our earnings from software/services we have sold using BlackBox.
A certificate is a good idea.

By the way, do we have a Treasurer?
Do we have a means of holding funds (e.g. PayPal)?

This 200$ is much money by the way. We now have only $115 and should always have some reserve to pay for hosting.

I think, that we can have some bonuses if we will pay together such price. For example we can put this signature for other applications that we are developing. For example, Chris can use it for his Astrobe. BlackBox Framework Center members have to form some ring of trust in that case.DGDanforth wrote:$20*11 = $220

If we want to have a revular fee, which I support BTW, then we need a legal organization.
AFAIK, last time I proposed this, there was no support for the idea.

If somebody can register an organization we will be able to order certificate for this organization. Until there is no organization we can order just personal certificates or use my university one.

We can form a collective BlackBox Framework non profit 501(c)(3) organization and order a certificate in that name.Ivan Denisov wrote:If somebody can register an organization we will be able to order certificate for this organization.
