Do you think we still need 2 more votes (the count is 7 as of this writing)?
If you want to be valid chairman, we need 9 voices. We need to respect our previous decisions. However we can change this rules with new voting about quorum. According our rules three people should ask you to make the poll, or you can initiate some vote if you think that topic is discussed and it is necessary.

Voted: 65, 73, 56, 72, 60, 75, 54, 90, 66. Not voted: Bernhard, OberonCore, Robert, Zinn.

A majority of more than 50% is not a simple majority.
It is an ABSOLUTE majority. An absolute majority means that the result
cannot be changed by waiting for more votes and therefore it does not
give sense to wait for more votes. And this is the subject of my
proposal for refining the voting rules.

A simple majority is only sufficient if the quorum is reached.
There would be no change to that case.

My apologies. I misused the term simple majority. That is not what I wanted.
I wanted an absolute majority.

sim·ple ma·jor·i·ty
noun
noun: simple majority; plural noun: simple majorities

a majority in which the highest number of votes cast for any one candidate, issue, or item exceeds the second-highest number, while not constituting an absolute majority.

ab·so·lute ma·jor·i·ty
noun
noun: absolute majority; plural noun: absolute majorities

a majority over all rivals combined; more than half.

The added rule without any reference to the current number of center members would be:

"If we have a majority of more than 50% with respect to a 100% quorum we don't need to wait for more votes."

Please note that I avoided the term 'absolute majority', because
(1) it may lead to misunderstandings and
(2) it is ambiguous unless the 100% quorum is also mentioned.

Thank you all for your vote of confidence!
I will be issuing a statement from the Chair.

In the U.S.A. some years ago, universities dropped the name 'Chairman' and replaced it with 'Chair' to avoid
any gender bias. I will be using the term 'Chair' from here on.

Best regards,
Doug Danforth
