The polls are running well and for the sake of completing the preliminary polls
before voting for the chairperson I have added another one for
the number X of center members required for requesting a poll.

Just to avoid any misunderstandings:
The chairperson is responsible for the polls and can in principle run a poll on his own.
In addition, if there is a disagreement between the chairperson and the other center
members whether a poll should be run or not, a group of X center members can force a poll.

I don't think that the chairman can start a vote on his own, because he has to make sure that there has been sufficient discussion about the topic before he starts one.

Just a thought: wouldn't it be better to have percentage instead of an absolute number for "X"?

The chairperson will be a responsible person who acts in the best interest of the community.
As such he/she will of course listen to the center members and to the public.
There is, however, no need to formalize these activities because
if the chairperson does not act in a responsible way there is the option of requesting
a poll (by X members) which, as a very extreme example, includes a poll about removing
this chairperson.

Replacing the X by a percentage is an option but it makes things more complicated
than necessary. There is always the possibility for adapting any limit and any rule
later on.

So, for getting things started I would prefer to start with a simple process
and see how it works. If we engage in optimizing without having an effective
voting process at our disposal, we will never start any real work, which
must be our ultimate goal.

Congratulations, all the votes are valid! Yes to chairperson with a 6 month period and 3 persons for starting any new poll.

As far as I understood, Rene is a candidate to serve as the first chairperson.
If there are no other candidates and if there is no further discussion about
the list of candidates, I will set up an according poll on Friday.
