Re: Temporary working name of the central project group
Good idea. Does this mean that we should also think about legally instituting a (non-profit or for-profit) foundation (would surely help to manage funds and get donations, where necessary, without coming into conflict with local or international laws, especially tax laws)? I would not do it now. It...

Re: Temporary working name of the central project group
Rene, I do agree, the two meanings of 'board' should be clearly separated. So let us call it what it is: "board of directors". A director is somebody who directs, i.e. defines the way to go. And this is what we are supposed to do no matter which legal form we have or if we have a legal for...

Re: Temporary working name of the central project group
I think what we temporarily call the 'center' is more commonly referred to as the 'board'.
The board (of a company or club) is where the decisions are made and where the responsibility is.
If it is called 'board' everybody understands it with little need for more explanation.

Re: Admission of new center members
I would strongly prefer 'vote in' over a free admission and later 'vote out' schema for new center members. Imagine the extreme case! Now regarding valexey: I would expect something like an application including - a self introduction, - an explanation why he did not join in the first place, - why he...

Re: Specifications for Hosting
According to Werner Braun's mail to the blackbox mailing list from 4th of May 2009 14:47 O3 runs fine on Wine. > Our new Version is permantly used and tested under Wine and > works well. If we have a virtual Linux server it should also be possible to run Wine and thereby any or at least most of the ...

Re: Specifications for Hosting
If we use a virtual Linux server for hosting it can be used for whatever task will appear in the future. So we don't have to specify the individual tasks up front. I would start with a small server and upgrade it as needed. With the money collected so far we can already run this server for a couple ...
